Fatally injured when he was struck by an HGV on the hard shoulder of the M1.

Fatally injured whilst assisting a female motorist with her broken down car, on the hard shoulder of the M1 Motorway near Wakefield, where the he was standing between his marked police vehicle and the woman’s car when a Heavy Goods Vehicle was in collision with both vehicles.

Mark, a former Special Constable, was a Motorway Patrol Roads Policing Officer with 10 years service and had been seriously injured in the line of duty in 2009.

He is survived by his wife and son.
